Facility Inspections
While this nursing home's overall score was terrible, it performed well in the category of inspections. In fact, we awarded it a B for that category, which is one of our better scores. Our inspection scores weigh a host of factors included in a nursing home's inspection report. One key criteria we rely on is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. You generally want to avoid facilities with too many deficiencies flagged. While this facility had some minor dings on its inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are labeled as categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This tells you that the inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. A few minor deficiencies are not necessarily the end of the world.
Long-term Care Quality
We awarded this facility just a D for our long-term care score and that actually ended up being its second most respectable category. Facilities that do not fare well in long-term care typically are not as well-staffed and are lagging in a few of the areas of routine personal care we looked at. On top of looking at the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we looked at the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. We were a bit bothered by the fact that this facility administered the vaccine to a relatively low 82.97362 percent of its residents. To our surprise, this facility actually fared well at keeping its residents out of the hospital. It had only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. This was its best score in this category.

Short-term Care Quality
Our next area we analyzed was short-term care, in which this nursing home received an F. Short-term care grades are commonly employed to assess a facility's rehabilitation services To provide highly scored rehabilitation services, nursing homes generally must feature higher levels of skilled nursing. These types of services include registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and other highly skilled individuals. With a grade of this caliber in this area, we weren't stunned to find this nursing home was well below average in several staffing areas we assess. In fact, it supplied substantially fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per patient than most facilities. Finally, we assessed the number of patients who ultimately were able to return home from this facility. This nursing home didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 0 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home. This figure was quite a bit off the national average.
Nurse Quality
The last category we rated is nursing. This nursing home received a bottom of the barrel grade of F in that area. Our nursing score looks at the facility's nurse staffing levels. We factor in both the levels of training of those nurses and the amount of time spent with patients. This facility provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low total compared to most nursing homes. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing ratings. This nursing home performed well in the area of avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls.
