We could not find anything positive to say about this place. It received a grade of just D in long-term care. Unfortunately, this was its best grade. Nursing homes that don't fare well in this category typically are not as well-staffed and are lagging in some of the areas of routine medical care we assessed. After looking at the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we turned to the facility's vaccination record. We were disappointed to learn that this facility vaccinated a relatively low 83.48624 percent of its patients for pneumonia. Surprisingly, this facility was actually decent at keeping its patients out of the hospital. It had only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. This is its best feature in this category.

We gave this facility a grade of just D for our nursing rating and that actually turned out to be its second highest score. Our nursing score is mostly tied to the nursing home's level of nurse staffing. This nursing home offered only 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient each day. This is a very low total compared to most nursing homes. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in computing our nursing ratings. This facility performed well in the area of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls.

We wanted to note that this nursing home received an F for its inspection grade. An F in this area is very concerning because it usually points to red flags on the nursing home's inspections. You should pay special attention to any deficiencies on a nursing home's inspection reports when it receives this poor of an inspection score. We recommend you pay close attention to the level of severity of the deficiencies. This particular nursing home was assessed 6 deficiencies on its inspection report. The only positive thing we found is that none of the deficiencies were in the categories that indicate that they created a risk to patient safety or health. Finally, CMS flagged this nursing home for possible abuse or neglect. This is not what you want to see. We advise you to direct your search elsewhere.

The last category we assessed was short-term care, where this facility received a rock bottom score in this category as well. Unfortunately, we gave it a lowly F in this area, which is obviously very concerning. In crafting our short-term care ratings, we look at the facility's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses, speech therapists, physical therapists and other types of skilled professionals. The purpose is to create a tool for sizing up the rehabilitation services of various facilities. With a grade of this caliber in this category, we weren't surprised to find that this place was well below average in the two key staffing areas we focus on. The facility supplied substantially fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than most other facilities. The last statistic we considered in this category is the percentage of patients that ultimately were able to return home from the nursing home. This nursing home struggled quite a bit in this area as well, with just 3.2 percent of its patients returning home.
