On top of receiving a great overall grade, this nursing home fared even better in the area of inspections which is based on the facility's recent government inspection reports. We would like to have more information about this nursing home. Without all of the deficiency data, it ended up being difficult to assess it in the inspections category.

However, based on the data this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The last measure we considered in this area is the number of patients who were able to leave the nursing home and return home. We found that 5 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.

Next, we looked at the nursing category where we awarded this nursing home a grade of B-. This facility didn't perform quite as well in this category as it did in some other categories. Nevertheless, this is still a respectable score. The nursing rating analyzes quite a few datapoints, however, the primary one is the level of nurse hours per patient per week. This place provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a lower figure than we are used to seeing. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics. Although this facility got dinged a bit for its nursing hours per resident, it excelled in a few of these quality measures. With fewer than five percent of its patients sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed very well in this metric. This can be a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can often be avoided by offering better nursing care, such as by employing a policy of turning a patient more frequently.

The final area we scored was long-term care. We awarded it a C in that category. This is a fair grade in this area. In our long-term care category, we focus on the quantity of services provided by a facility, as well as a few qualitative data points. After considering the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we turned to the facility's vaccination record. Candidly, we were a bit worried that this nursing home vaccinated 78.27715 percent of its patients against pneumonia, which is quite a bit less than average. On a more positive note, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
