Facility Inspections

Grade: A-minus

In addition to being a strong nursing home overall, this place especially excelled in our inspections category, where it received an A-. Not many facilities fared better in that area. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in determining our inspection grades. One of those factors is health deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of deficiencies is arguably more important than the quantity of deficiencies, as some of these end up being quite insignificant. This place received 3 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none were considered severe. This means that the inspectors didn't deem any of these deficiencies to cause an imminent risk to patient health or safety. A few relatively minor dings aren't something to panic about.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-plus

Building on its impressive resume, this nursing home also excelled in our nursing category. In fact, we gave it an B+ for that category. Nursing grades are based in large part on quantity of nursing care available. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This nursing home performed very well when it comes to minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

This nursing home is also strong in the category of short-term care, where it was given a grade of B+. It outperformed most nursing homes in this area. Short-term care grades are vital for patients seeking rehabilitation. Rehabilitation usually requires more highly-skilled nursing. This includes a wide scope of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, as well as other forms of therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not all nursing homes employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, according to the information they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Lastly, we considered the percentage of patients who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 5 percent of this facility's residents returned home.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: D

Switching gears to the next category, we awarded this nursing home a grade of D in long-term care. This is the nursing home's least impressive category rating. Sadly, this grade pulled down the facility's overall grade a bit. For patients seeking a permanent place to live as opposed to rehabilitation, long-term care is a very important category. In addition to looking at the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility vaccinated 96.27907 percent of its patients. To our surprise, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.02 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this nursing home had less hospitalizations than the average nursing home. Unfortunately, a few of its other scores in this category weren't as favorable as these.
