While we did not rate this nursing home favorably overall, we want to point out its relatively favorable inspections in recent years. We gave it a respectable grade of B+ in this area, which was much better than its overall score. Our inspection scores are based on several items found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Deficiencies are an important item to look for on these reports. Most importantly, you should avoid facilities with severe deficiencies associated with risks to resident well being. While this place had some minor dings on its inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those found in categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This means the inspectors did not deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. A couple minor deficiencies are not necessarily the end of the world.
Long-term Care Quality
This nursing home was given its second highest category score in the area of long-term care. We gave this nursing home a grade of C in this area, which is a reasonably acceptable score. In our long-term care score, we analyze the sheer volume of services provided by a nursing home, along with a few qualitative measures. This nursing home gave the vaccine to 99.375 percent of its patients. This nursing home also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

We gave this facility a grade of just D for our nursing rating. We looked at the skill-level of nurses at the facility, in addition to the quantity of hours the nurses spent with residents, in calculating our rating in this category. This facility averaged a meager 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident daily. This is an alarmingly low total. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing scores. This place fared well when it comes to avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers.
Short-term Care Quality
The next area we looked at was short-term care, turned out to be this facility's weakest category. We awarded this facility a D in that category. In determining our short-term care ratings, we quantify the nursing home's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists and other types of skilled professionals. Our objective is to create a measure for sizing up the rehabilitation services of nursing homes. Considering its score in this category, we weren't surprised to learn that this facility is well below average in terms of the number of registered nurse and physical therapy hours provided to its residents based on the figures we looked at. Honestly, this was about what we expected to find. Lastly, we assessed the number of residents that eventually returned home from this facility. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 5.1 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.
