Facility Inspections
In addition to being a first rate facility overall, this facility also performed well in our inspections category, where it earned an A+. Few places performed as well in this category. Inspection grades take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies, substantiated complaints and federal fines. You can learn more about each of these items by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Although this facility had some deficiencies on its report, none of them were severe based on CMS' scale. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Long-term Care Quality
To complement its top-shelf accomplishments in other areas, we awarded this nursing home a score of A for its long-term care score. For patients seeking a permanent place to live as opposed to rehabilitation, long-term care is an important category. On top of considering the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home administered the vaccine to 81.48148 percent of its residents, which is a few points below what we expected. While its vaccination rate was a bit lower than we hoped for, at least this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. It had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

Nurse Quality
Among its many impressive grades, this facility received an excellent nursing grade. In fact, we gave it a grade of A- in that category. Nursing scores are tied to nurse staffing levels. This particular nursing home provided 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at several nursing quality-based metrics and this place excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any nursing home the country in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can frequently be prevented by offering better nursing care, such as having a policy of moving patients more frequently.
Short-term Care Quality
Moving on to our fourth category, this nursing home received a highly favorable short-term care rating. Although this isn't quite as dominant as several of its other grades, this remains one of our stronger grades we offer. Our short-term care ratings are based in part on the nursing home's quantity of skilled highly skilled professionals. This means a vast range of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, in addition to other forms of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not every nursing home employs these skilled professionals. However, according to the information they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Finally, we assessed the number of residents who ultimately were able to return home from this nursing home. We found that 4.6 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.
