Facility Inspections
Although we gave this facility a poor overall score, we gave it a B for our inspections rating. This was due to the facility receiving a quality government inspection report this year. Our inspection scores are tied to several datapoints found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Deficiencies are a key thing to look for on these reports. You should especially avoid facilities that have severe deficiencies associated with risks to resident well being. Although this place had some deficiencies on its report, none were serious based on CMS' scale. A couple minor deficiencies are not necessarily the end of the world.
Nurse Quality
Unfortunately, this facility only received a grade of D for its nursing grade, which was actually one of its better category grades. Nursing scores are mostly tied to a facility's nurse staffing. This place offered just 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient on a daily basis. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in calculating our nursing grades. This nursing home fared well when it comes to avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these statistics to be reliable indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality
Our third area we looked at is short-term care, where this nursing home received an F. In crafting our short-term care grades, we look at the nursing home's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses, speech therapists, physical therapists and other types of therapists. The purpose is to create a tool for comparing the rehabilitation services of various nursing homes. Considering its grade in this category, we weren't surprised to learn that this facility was well below average in terms of the quantity of registered nurse and physical therapy hours offered to its patients based on the measures we assessed. The last item we considered in this category is the percentage of residents who returned home from the facility. This nursing home struggled quite a bit in this area as well, with just 5.1 percent of its residents returning home. Unfortunately, this was well below average.
Long-term Care Quality
The final area we looked at is long-term care. Sadly, it received an F in this category, which is an abysmal score. Long-term care scores in this range generally are a bad sign for the quantity and quality of care provided by nurses and aids, as well as the levels of routine medical care available. On top of looking at the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we analyzed the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. We were a bit alarmed this nursing home provided the vaccine to a relatively low 34.33735 percent of its residents. To our surprise, this nursing home actually fared well at keeping its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. This was its best score in this category.
