Short-term Care Quality
Although we did not rate this facility well overall, we want to point out that it received a B- for short-term care. This is not a horrible grade With our short-term care score, we strive to forge a fair measure for rehabilitation. In this process, we analyze a nursing home's offerings of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as occupational therapy. Unfortunately, we found that this place provided fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most other facilities. Finally, we considered the number of patients that who were able to eventually return home from this nursing home. We found that 0 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home. This figure was quite a bit below average.
Nurse Quality
We awarded this facility a respectable grade in the area of nursing as well, with a grade of C. When determining our nursing ratings, we assess both nursing hours and the training levels of the nurses. This place provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident on a daily basis. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this facility surprisingly fared better in some of the quality measures we looked at. It scored well in the area of avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls. Many consider these areas to be good measures of the quality of nursing care. In some cases, the quality of nursing care is as important as the quantity of hours of care offered.

Long-term Care Quality
Unfortunately, this facility only received a grade of D for its long-term care rating, which is well below average in this category. Nursing homes that do not fare well in this category typically aren't as well-staffed and are lagging in some of the areas of routine personal care we assessed. After looking at the quantity of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we then analyzed the facility's vaccination statistics. We were somewhat surprised to discover that this nursing home vaccinated just 82.127655 percent of its residents against pneumonia. Surprisingly, this place was actually decent at keeping its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0.02 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. This was its best feature in this category.
Facility Inspections
Unfortunately, this nursing home did not receive a favorable inspection rating. We gave it a score of just D in this category. Inspection grades relate to a nursing home's inspection reports. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in determining our inspection scores. One key factor is health deficiencies. We suggest you pay close attention to the severity of the deficiencies. This facility was assessed a category J or K deficiency, which are among the worst deficiencies. Finally, we want to point out that this place was assessed significant government fines recently totaling more than $100,000. This generally means that a nursing home's poor track record spanned multiple years.
