Registered Staff Hours
Nurse Quality
While we graded this facility incredibly poorly overall, it received a fairly respectable nursing grade this year. We gave it a grade of C in that category. When calculating our nursing grades, we factor in both the number of hours nurses spend with residents and the levels of licensure of those nurses. This facility provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient daily. This is a relatively low total compared to most facilities. Finally, although this facility got docked a bit for nursing hours, it actually excelled in some of our quality measures. With less than five percent of its residents experiencing pressure ulcers, it performed well in this area.
Facility Inspections
This nursing home received a grade of just D in the area of inspections. Unfortunately, this ended up being its second best grade. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in calculating our inspection scores. One of those factors is deficiencies. We suggest you pay close attention to the level of severity of the deficiencies. This facility was hit with 5 deficiencies on its inspection report. The only positive thing we can say is that none of its deficiencies were in the categories that suggest they posed a threat to patient health or safety. Lastly, we need to point out that this place received significant government fines recently of more than $100,000. This usually indicates that a facility'spoor track record spanned multiple years.

Short-term Care Quality
The next category we assessed is short-term care. This nursing home's received an unfortunate short-term care grade where it was given an F. Our short-term care scores are based on the facility's quantity of highly-skilled skilled healthcare professionals. This means a vast range of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, in addition to other variations of therapy. Not surprisingly, we found that this nursing home provides far less physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than the average facility. The final statistic we looked at in this category is the number of patients who ultimately were able to return home from the nursing home. This facility struggled quite a bit in this area as well, with just 4.1 percent of its residents returning home.
Long-term Care Quality
The next area we analyzed was long-term care. We gave it an abysmal F in this area, which is an abysmal grade. When nursing homes receive a score in this range in this category it generally means the facility did not perform well in our measures relating to resident care. In addition to assessing the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we analyzed the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. We discovered that this nursing home provided the vaccine to just 86.618706 percent of its patients, which is not a very encouraging sign. Surprisingly, this facility was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this nursing home has fewer hospitalizations than most nursing homes. This was its best feature in this category.
