Facility Inspections

Grade: A

On top of earning a great overall score, this facility performed even better in our inspections category which is associated with the nursing home's recent inspection reports. In fact, we gave it a grade of A for that category, which is one of our best grades. Our inspection ratings are based on many datapoints found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Facilities that receive favorable grades in this area typically have few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these places should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. While this place had a few minor dings on its government inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are found in categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This means CMS didn't consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. Remember that deficiency-free inspection reports are rare in the industry.

This particular nursing home provided 0 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This facility performed very well in the area of avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B

This nursing home was awarded a favorable long-term care score as well. We gave it one of our better scores in that category with a score of B. For long-term care residents, the nursing home's primary objective is to maintain residents' quality of life and keep them safe. In addition to considering the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we analyzed the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home vaccinated 87.5 percent of its patients, which is somewhat below what we expected. Although its vaccination rate was a bit lower than we had hoped, at least this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. It had only 0.04 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: C

The last category we graded is short-term care. This nursing home was given a grade of C in this category. With our short-term care score, we strive to craft a meaningful measure for rehabilitation. In doing so, we analyze a facility's offerings of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. We weren't able to find registered nurse or physical therapy staffing data for this facility. The final item we assessed in this category is the number of patients who were able to leave the facility and return to the community. We discovered that just 3.9 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home, which is actually below average.
