Short-term Care Quality
This nursing home really excelled in the area of short-term care, where it received an A-. Few nursing homes performed better in this category. If it was not for this area, this facility's overall score would have been much worse. Short-term care ratings are based on a nursing home's quantity of highly-skilled highly skilled professionals. This means a broad spectrum of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, in addition to other variations of therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this facility employs registered nurses. Not every facility employs these types of nurses. However, according to the data they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Lastly, we considered the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 6.1 percent of this facility's patients returned home.
Facility Inspections
This facility also performed well in inspections. It received one of our best scores in that category with an A-. Inspection scores account for several factors found on a nursing home's inspection reports. One of the most important criteria we consider is the number and severity of deficiencies. Facilities with higher scores in this area tend to have very few of these severe deficiencies. Although this place had some deficiencies on its inspection report, none were serious based on CMS' deficiency scale. The fact that none of the deficiencies were severe leaves us less concerned with this inspection report.

Nurse Quality
This nursing home also received a strong grade in our nursing category. We awarded this nursing home an above average grade of B in this area. The nursing rating consists of many subcategories, however, the most important one is the quantity of nurse hours per patient per week. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well in terms of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.
Long-term Care Quality
The final category we assessed was long-term care. Unfortunately, we gave it an F for this category, which is a poor grade. This is obviously a significant disappointment. In a long-term care setting, the facility's primary goal is to maintain residents' quality of life and keep them safe. On top of considering the amount of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home provided the vaccine to 97.50779 percent of its patients. To our surprise, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this nursing home has less hospitalizations than many nursing homes. Unfortunately, some of its other scores in this category weren't as favorable as these.
