Facility Inspections
On top of being a great facility overall, it also received A+ inspections recently. Its inspections are nearly flawless. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in computing our inspection ratings. One key factor is health deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of deficiencies is usually more meaningful than the quantity of deficiencies, as some of these are quite insignificant. This nursing home received 2 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none were considered to be severe. This indicates that the government inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Long-term Care Quality
This nursing home fared well in our long-term care category. As a result, we gave it a grade of A for that area, which is one of our most dominant scores. Long-term care ratings of this caliber generally require both 24/7 care from nurses and aids, as well as quality routine medical care. Once we finished looking at the volume of care provided by nurses, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination records. This nursing home vaccinated 97.98658 percent of its patients for pneumonia, which is what we like to see. Pneumonia is often a life or death illness for nursing home residents so we like it when a facility does not take any chances. Lastly, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. It had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Nurse Quality
The next highest grade we gave this nursing home came in the category of nursing, where we gave it a grade of B-. This wasn't quite as good as some of its other scores, but a grade in this range is not the end of the world. The nursing rating is based on numerous datapoints. The most important one is the amount of time nurses spent with residents. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics. While this place got dinged a bit for nursing hours per resident, it excelled in some of these quality-based metrics. With fewer than five percent of its residents suffering from pressure ulcers, it performed remarkably well in this area. This can be an indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can generally be avoided by offering better nursing care, such as by employing a protocol of turning residents more frequently.
Short-term Care Quality
The final area we rated was short-term care. This nursing home received an above average short-term care rating this year, with a C. While this is not as impressive as some of its other category grades, this remains a decent rating in this category. In crafting our short-term care ratings, we look at the facility's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists and other types of therapists. The goal is to formulate a tool for comparing the rehabilitation services of different nursing homes. Unfortunately, we were not able to locate registered nurse or physical therapy staffing data for this place. The final item we considered in this category is the number of patients who returned home from the nursing home. We found that just 5.3 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.
