Short-term Care Quality
Even though we did not rate this facility favorably overall, we want to point out its relatively favorable short-term care rating. We awarded it a respectable grade of B in this area, which was much better than its overall grade. In the category of short-term care, we strive to evaluate measures of a facility's rehabilitation services. We assess a nursing home's skilled nursing services, such as the ones performed by registered nurses and various therapists. It does not look like this nursing home submitted information about its staffing of registered nurses or physical therapists. Lastly, we assessed the percentage of residents who ultimately were able to return home from this nursing home. We found that 5.2 percent of this nursing home's patients were able to return home.
Nurse Quality
We also want to point out that this facility received a decent grade in our nursing category. We awarded it a grade of B- in the area. We scrutinized the licensure of nurses at the facility, as well as the quantity of time those nurses were with residents, in determining our grade in this area. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this place excelled in some of the quality measures we assessed. It scored well in the area of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers.

Facility Inspections
This facility received mediocre inspections in recent years. We awarded them a grade of C in this area. Inspection grades weigh several factors, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can find more information about each of these factors by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. This facility was hit with 5 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to find that none were category G through L deficiencies. This means that the government inspectors did not deem any of the deficiencies to present an imminent risk to patient health or safety. Finally, we would like to note that this facility received government fines in recent years. We were relieved to find that these were on the lower end of the spectrum. Nevertheless, this isn't what you want to find.
Long-term Care Quality
The last area we analyzed is long-term care. This nursing home received a poor grade of F in this area. In a long-term care environment, the nursing home's primary objective is to maintain residents' quality of life and keep them safe. Once we concluded our assessment of the quantity of nursing care, we then looked at the facility's vaccination data. We were optimistic to learn that this nursing home vaccinates 100 percent of its patients for pneumonia. Surprisingly, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this facility has fewer hospitalizations than most nursing homes. Sadly, some of its other scores in the category weren't as favorable as these.
