Facility Inspections
Although we did not rate this facility well overall, we want to note its decent health inspections in recent years. We awarded it a relatively respectable score of B- in this area. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in computing these inspection scores. One key factor is health deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of these deficiencies is arguably more meaningful than the quantity of deficiencies, as some deficiencies are quite insignificant. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Finally, CMS flagged this nursing home for possible abuse or neglect. This is not what you want to see. We advise you to direct your search elsewhere.
Nurse Quality
One of the other reasons we rated this facility so highly is that it received a very impressive nursing score. Nursing proved to be its second best category grade. In that category, we awarded this facility an B-. There are several criteria included in this grade. Many of these subcategories relate to nurse staffing. This facility provided just 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a relatively low total compared to most other facilities. Finally, while this nursing home got dinged a bit for its nursing hours per resident, it excelled in some of our quality-based metrics. With less than five percent of its residents suffering from pressure ulcers, it fared remarkably well in this subcategory.

Short-term Care Quality
This facility was awarded its third highest category score in the category of short-term care. We awarded this nursing home a B- in this category, which is an acceptable grade. In computing these short-term care ratings, we analyze the nursing home's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses, respiratory therapists, physical therapists and other types of skilled professionals. The purpose is to devise a measure for sizing up the rehabilitation services of various nursing homes. Unfortunately, we found that this facility provided fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than most other facilities. Finally, we assessed the percentage of patients who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 3.3 percent of this facility's residents returned home. At most facilities, closer to half of their patients are able to return home so this figure is below average.
Long-term Care Quality
The last area we looked at was long-term care. We gave it a B- in this area. This is a perfectly acceptable grade in this area. In computing our long-term care ratings, we look at the assistance with daily living received by the facility's patients. After we finished looking at the volume of nursing care, we then looked at the facility's vaccination statistics. We were optimistic to discover that this facility vaccinated 94.88636 percent of its residents against pneumonia. Lastly, this nursing home was also able to limit hospitalizations. It had only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
