Facility Inspections
While we were not high on this facility overall, we awarded it an A+ for our inspections rating. This score is far more impressive than the facility's overall score. Our inspection scores weigh a host of factors found on a facility's inspection report. One of the most important criteria we look at is the number and severity of deficiencies. You should avoid places with too many severe deficiencies flagged. Fortunately, although this facility had some minor dings on its government inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones found in categories G through L. This means that the inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. A few minor deficiencies aren't necessarily the end of the world.
Long-term Care Quality
We awarded this nursing home a grade of just D for our long-term care rating and that actually wound up as its second most respectable score. For prospective patients in need of a permanent place to live rather than rehabilitation, long-term care is an important category. On top of looking at the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility administered the vaccine to 99.14894 percent of its patients. To our surprise, this facility was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. It had only 0.02 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. Unfortunately, a few of its other scores in the category were not as favorable as these.

Short-term Care Quality
Unfortunately, this nursing home's third best category is short-term care. Nevertheless, with a grade of D in this category, it still performed relatively badly. In forming our short-term care scores, we analyze the nursing home's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists and other types of skilled professionals. Our goal is to create a scale for comparing the rehabilitation services of various nursing homes. Considering its grade in this area, we weren't stunned to discover that this place is well below average in terms of the number of physical therapy and registered nurse hours provided to its patients based on the figures we assessed. The final metric we considered in this area is the number of residents that ultimately were able to return home from the nursing home. This nursing home struggled quite a bit in this metric as well, with just 5 percent of its patients returning home. This was quite a bit below average.
Nurse Quality
Moving on to our last area, this facility did not fare well here either. With an abysmal grade of F in nursing, this is about as terrible as it gets. Nursing ratings are based largely on levels of nurse staffing. This facility provided just 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low total compared to most nursing homes. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in computing our nursing ratings. This facility performed well when it comes to avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls.
