Long-term Care Quality
To pair with its strong overall grade, we gave this nursing home a grade of A for our long-term care rating. For patients seeking a permanent place to live as opposed to skilled nursing, long-term care is an important category. After we finished looking at the amount of nursing care, we turned to the facility's vaccination record. This facility vaccinated 74.14966 percent of its patients against pneumonia. While its vaccination rate was a bit lower than we like to see, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
Nurse Quality
To complement its strong performance in other areas, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A- for our inspections rating. Nursing ratings are primarily based on the nursing home's nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at several nursing quality measures and this nursing home excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any nursing home the state in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can many times be avoided by offering better nursing care, such as by employing a system of turning residents at least once a day.

Facility Inspections
Adding to this facility's impressive resume, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A- for our inspections rating. Arguably the most critical factor we look at in computing our inspection ratings is deficiencies. These deficiencies are found on a facility's inspection reports. Nursing homes with better grades in this area typically dodged the more severe deficiencies involving patient abuse or death. Although this facility had some deficiencies on its inspection report, none were serious based on CMS' deficiency scale. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Short-term Care Quality
Switching gears to our final category, this facility was awarded a high-end short-term care grade. In fact, we gave it a B+ in this category, rounding out one of our more impressive report cards. Our short-term care ratings are considered to be more critical for folks needing a nursing home for rehabilitation. Rehabilitation usually utilizes additional highly-skilled nursing. This includes not merely nursing services, but also physical and occupational therapy, as well as other variations of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not all nursing homes employs these types of nurses. However, based on the data they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Finally, we looked at the number of residents who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 5.3 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.
