This facility's best category grade came in the category of health inspections. In this area, we gave this facility a B+. It outperformed most nursing homes in this area. Inspection ratings are based on several datapoints found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Facilities that receive favorable grades in this category tend to have very few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these nursing homes generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. While this facility had a few minor dings on its report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those labeled as categories G through L. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this facility actually excelled in some of the quality measures we looked at. In fact, it performed well when it comes to avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers.

Short-term care scores are based in part on a facility's quantity of skilled nursing services. This means a wide scope of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, in addition to other forms of therapy. Unfortunately, we found that this place provided fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than most other facilities. Finally, we considered the number of residents who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 5.1 percent of this facility's patients returned home. At most facilities, closer to half of their patients are able to return home so this figure is below average.

The next area we scored is long-term care, which ended up being this nursing home's worst category. It received a lowly F in this category, which is obviously a major disappointment. For prospective patients looking for a permanent place to live rather than skilled nursing, long-term care is a very important category. In addition to considering the quantity of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we analyzed the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This facility provided the vaccine to 98.32134 percent of its patients. Surprisingly, this place also fared well at keeping its residents out of the hospital. It had only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. Sadly, some of its other scores in this category weren't as favorable as these.
