Du Bois, Pennsylvania has only two nursing homes to choose from, so you have relatively limited options. These facilities did not really stand out from a quality point of view either. The city was awarded a city grade of C, which is not one of our stronger grades at the city level. We found that most cities received a B or higher, leaving this city on the wrong side of average. The best part of this city's report card was its nursing homes' stellar inspection ratings. Inspection reports are discussed in the next paragraph.
This city received a fairly ordinary overall grade, however, we really would like to point out that some of the nursing homes in the city nearly flawless health inspections in recent years. We gave them an impressive grade of A- in this area. Inspection ratings weigh several factors, including deficiencies, substantiated complaints and federal fines. You can find more information about each of these issues by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. The city also excelled in the area of health nursing with a B. In the last two categories, we gave the city grades of B- and D for our short-term care and long-term care areas respectively. Even with an otherwise respectable profile, a long-term care grade this poor may be an issue for some people.
