With just four nursing homes in the city, you only have a few options in Oswego, New York. This city received a city grade of C based on its overall nursing home quality. This is not a great city score. This grade is below average by national standards. The best part of this city's report card was its nursing homes' exemplary inspection grades. We discuss inspections in the next paragraph.
This city's nursing homes received a fairly ordinary overall grade, however, we really want to emphasize that some of the nursing homes in the city nearly perfect health inspections in recent years. We awarded it an elite grade of A in this category. Our inspection grades account for several factors found on a facility's inspection reports. One of the most important criteria we consider is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. Nursing homes with higher scores in this area tend to have very few severe deficiencies. Inspections is Oswego's second best grade. The city received a B- in this category. Lastly, Oswego received grades of C and D for our long-term care and nursing areas respectively. While we found the rest of its profile to be decent, this low nursing grade isn't a great sign for levels of nursing staffing.
