With a population of 24,006 , Jackson, Missouri is a small city. There are only 2 nursing homes there, which does not offer you too many options to choose from. This city's nursing homes received a very good city grade of B+, so what this place lacks in quantity, it makes up for by having high quality nursing homes. We found this city grade was considerably better than the city grade of C received by the nearby city of Poplar Bluff. In fact, some of its facilities received nearly flawless inspection reports this year. Consequently, it received one of our best scores in that area with an A. Inspection grades account for a host of factors included in a facility's inspection reports. One of the most important criteria we look at is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. Places with higher scores in this area tend to have few of these severe deficiencies. Jackson earned a grade of B+ in our nursing category. Rounding out its quality profile, we gave the city a B for its short-term care score and a grade of B for long-term care. We found Jackson to be strong everywhere we looked.
