With just two nursing homes in the city, you only have a couple of choices in Jackson, Missouri. This place's limited supply of nursing homes were awarded a good city grade of B. We also looked at the nursing homes in the nearby city of Carbondale, which received a city grade of C. We found Jackson to be on a whole other level. The best aspect of Jackson's impressive report card is its nursing homes' inspection scores. Inspection reports are discussed in the next paragraph
In addition to receiving a strong overall grade, most of the nursing homes in Jackson performed spectacularly well in our inspection category. In fact, we awarded Jackson an A for this category, which is one of our highest scores. Inspection ratings are tied to several items located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Facilities that score well in this category have very few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these places generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. In addition, Jackson earned a grade of B in the area of nursing. Lastly, we gave the city middle of the pack grades for our short-term care and long-term care categories.
