With two nursing homes in the city, you only have a couple of choices in Wisner, Louisiana. This small group of facilities were awarded on average an overall grade of B-, which is a respectable score for the city. By way of comparison, we awarded the facilities in the nearby city of West Monroe a city grade of C, which is a well below average score. While the two cities were relatively close, we found the facilities in Wisner to be a better bet. One of the major highlights of this city's report card is its stellar inspection rating, which is addressed in the following paragraph.
While its overall score was somewhat average, this city's nursing homes performed remarkably well in our inspection category. In fact, we awarded Wisner an A for that category, which is one of our best scores. Arguably the most significant factor we consider in calculating our inspection scores is deficiencies. Deficiencies can be found on a facility's inspection reports. Facilities with better grades in this category most likely avoided the more severe deficiencies involving health risks or even death. We also wanted to emphasize that we gave the city an A in our long-term care rating. Lastly, this place earned abysmal grades for our short-term care and nursing areas respectively.
