With just two nursing homes in the city, you only have a couple of options in Winnsboro, Louisiana. The relatively small group of nursing homes in this city received a city grade of C, which is not a great score at the city level. We somewhat surprisingly found this city grade was better than the grade we gave the nearby city of West Monroe. With West Monroe receiving such an awful grade, Winnsboro certainly appears to be a better bet. The best part of this city's report card is its nursing homes' stellar inspection reports. Inspection reports are discussed in the next section.
This city received a somewhat average overall grade, but we really want to emphasize that some of its facilities virtually flawless health inspections the past few years. We awarded it an impressive grade of A in this area. Arguably the most critical factor we look at in determining our inspection scores is deficiencies. These deficiencies are found on a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places with higher scores in this area most likely avoided the more severe deficiencies involving health risks or even death. The city performed extremely well in our long-term care category as well. Consequently, the city received a grade of A- in this area. In the other categories we looked at, this place received terrible grades for our short-term care and nursing categories respectively.
