As good as the nursing homes are in Des Moines, we found Boone to be even better. This place's impressive report card was highlighted by its nursing homes' inspection reports, which we will address in the next paragraph.
On top of having excellent nursing homes on the whole, this place really excelled in the category of inspections, where we gave it an A. Not many cities earned a better grade in this area. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in calculating these inspection ratings. One critical factor is deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of deficiencies is arguably more meaningful than the number of deficiencies, as some are relatively minor. We also wanted to point out that we gave the city an A in our nursing category. Lastly, this place earned a B for its long-term care grade and a B- in short-term care.
