Albia, Iowa offers only two nursing homes to choose from, which is not a ton of options. These nursing homes did not really stand out from a quality point of view either. The city was awarded a city grade of C, which is not one of our better scores at the city level. This score unfortunately is on the wrong side of the national average. Finally, this city's nursing homes received consistent grades in each of the other areas we looked at. More information about its category grades is available in the next paragraph.
While the nursing homes in Albia received a middle of the road overall grade, its inspection grade is better than its overall grade. Due to some of its nursing homes receiving favorable inspection reports this year, we gave Albia one of our better scores in that category with a B. Perhaps the most significant factor we look at in determining our inspection ratings is deficiencies. Deficiencies can be found on a facility's recent inspection reports. Places with higher grades in this category typically dodged the more severe deficiencies involving things like patient abuse. The city also earned one of our better scores in our nursing category, with a B. In the last two categories, Albia received a grade of B- for short-term care and a grade of C in long-term care.
