With a population of 51,670 people, Pine Bluff, Arkansas is a relatively small city. There are only 3 nursing homes in the city, which doesn't give you too many options to choose from. Sadly, these nursing homes did not excel from a quality standpoint. Its nursing homes were given a city grade of D, which is one of our worst score at the city level. For comparison's sake, we also assessed the facilities in the nearby city of Jacksonville, which received an alarming city grade of F. While neither city comes highly recommended, Pine Bluff surprisingly looks like the better option. We don't have many good things to say about this city's facilities, but they did receive surprisingly strong inspection reports. You can scroll down to learn more about this.
This city received an abysmal overall grade, however, we wanted to acknowledge its strong inspections the past few years. We gave it a B in this area. Inspection ratings weigh a host of factors included in a nursing home's inspection report. One of the most important criteria we weigh heavily is the number and severity of deficiencies. You generally want to avoid facilities with too many deficiencies flagged. Surprisingly, this city performed decently in our long-term care category as well, where we gave it a C for that category. In our final two categories, we awarded the city alarmingly low grades in our nursing and short-term care categories respectively.
