There are four nursing homes in Gadsden, Alabama, which at least gives you a few choices. We gave the nursing homes here a very good city grade of B+. Even with only a couple of nursing homes, this is still an impressive city grade. By way of comparison, we gave the nursing homes in the local city of Rome a city grade of B-, which is also a decent score. However, we found the facilities in Gadsden to be a slightly better bet than the ones in Rome. This city's report card is also very consistent as it didn't receive a single weak category grade either. You can find more information about these in the next paragraph.
In addition to having quality nursing homes overall, this city really excelled in the area of inspections, where it received an A+. Not many cities fared this well in this area. Perhaps the most critical factor we look at in computing our inspection grades is deficiencies. Deficiencies can be found on a facility's inspection reports. Nursing homes with better scores in this area most likely avoided the most severe deficiencies involving things like patient abuse. We also wanted to point out that we awarded the city an A- for our long-term care rating. In our final two categories, we gave Gadsden a B for nursing and a B- in short-term care.
