There are three facilities in Florence, Alabama, so at least you have a few options to choose from. The nursing homes here received a phenomenal city grade of A-. Even with just a few nursing homes, this is still a great achievement. We found this city grade was even better than the city grade of B received by the nearby city of Decatur. Both cities received impressive grades, but Florence appears to be an even better place to find a nursing home. We were actually so impressed with Florence that we ranked it as one of the twenty five highest rated cities in Alabama.
In addition to receiving a strong overall grade, most of the nursing homes in Florence performed spectacularly well in our inspection category. In fact, we awarded its facilities an A+ for this category, which is one of our highest scores. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in calculating these inspection grades. One key factor is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of deficiencies is usually more meaningful than the number of deficiencies, as some end up being quite insignificant. The city performed extremely well in terms of its long-term care grade as well. As a result, the city received an A- in that area. Rounding out its impressive profile, this place were awarded a B+ for its short-term care rating and a grade of B+ in nursing. Florence really didn't have any weak links as far as we could tell.
