Facility Inspections

Grade: A

On top of performing well in its overall grade, this nursing home received an excellent inspection report. Consequently, it received one of our best grades in this category with a grade of A. Inspection grades weigh a host of factors included in a nursing home's inspection reports. One key criteria we rely on is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. Places with better scores in this area tend to have very few of these severe deficiencies. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

Adding to its high-end resume, this facility also received a dominant long-term care score, with a score of A-. Facilities that receive this kind of grade in this category typically provide consistent 24/7 care to ensure residents are kept in good health. In addition to looking at the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home vaccinated 81.39535 percent of its patients, which is a few points less than we anticipated. While its vaccination rate was a bit lower than we had hoped, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

Moving on our third category, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A- for our short-term care rating. This is a very strong grade. In computing our short-term care grades, we scrutinize the facility's levels of skilled nursing services, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists respiratory therapists and other highly trained professionals. This category is frequently a useful measure of a nursing home's rehabilitation services. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not every facility employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, based on the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Lastly, we looked at the percentage of patients that ultimately returned home from this nursing home. We found that 3.7 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A-minus

Moving on to the last category, this nursing home also excelled in our nursing category. In fact, we gave it an A- for that category. This topped off truly elite report card. We scrutinized the licensure of nurses working for the nursing home, in addition to the number of hours the nurses were with residents, in calculating our score in this area. This facility provided 0.6 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This nursing home performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a nursing home has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can frequently be avoided if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.
