On top of being a first rate nursing home overall, this nursing home also performed well in our long-term care category, where it received an impressive grade of A+. Few nursing homes fared better in this category. When facilities receive a grade in this range in long-term care it generally means it has plenty of staff and is a quality place to reside on a permanent basis. One of the datapoints we considered on top of this facility's quality nursing hours was vaccinations. This nursing home provided the pneumonia vaccination to 100 percent of its residents. Vaccines are a great way to avoid unnecessary deaths for the elderly. This combination proved to be successful as this nursing home also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. Another reason we rated this nursing home so highly is that it received an A+ nursing grade. This is simply as good as it gets in this category. Nursing ratings are primarily tied to the facility's nurse staffing. This nursing home boasts a really impressive 5.9 hours of nursing care per patient each day, of which a significant percentage was provided by registered nurses. This is one of the most highly trained levels of nurses. This is one of the higher totals of nursing hours we found at any facility. In addition to offering impressive levels of nursing care, this facility also excelled in the quality-based metrics we looked at. Our short-term care grade is often employed to assess a nursing home's rehabilitation services In order to provide highly rated rehabilitation services, nursing homes generally must provide better levels of highly skilled nursing. These types of services include registered nurses, physical therapists, respiratory therapists and other highly skilled individuals. One reason for this facility's strong score in this category is that it provides more care with registered nurses to its residents than the average nursing home. Lastly, we looked at the number of patients who were able to return home from this nursing home. This place outperformed the vast majority of facilities in the country with 56 percent of its patients returning home.

Finally, this nursing home also earned excellent government inspections in recent years. We gave it one of our best grades in that area, with an impressive grade of A. Few nursing homes can boast of receiving an A- or better in every category. Inspection scores weigh several factors, including deficiencies, substantiated complaints and federal fines. You can learn more about each of these items by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
