Registered Staff Hours
Nurse Quality
The main reason this turned out to be a great nursing home is that it received an elite nursing grade. In fact, we gave this facility a grade of A-. Our nursing grade analyzes many datapoints, many of which are based on levels of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This nursing home performed very well in terms of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.
Facility Inspections
In addition, this nursing home also excelled in inspections, where it earned an B+. Inspection ratings weigh several factors included in a nursing home's inspection reports. One of the most important criteria we look at is the number and severity of deficiencies. Nursing homes with better grades in this area usually have few of these severe deficiencies. While this facility had a few deficiencies on its government inspection report, none were major deficiencies based on CMS' deficiency scale. A couple minor dings are not necessarily the end of the world.

Short-term Care Quality
Additionally, we also wanted to point out that this facility was awarded positive short-term care marks in this assessment. We gave them one of our better grades in that area, with a B. With our short-term care score, we endeavor to create a valuable gauge for rehabilitation services. In this process, we look at the facility's offerings of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as occupational therapy. Unfortunately, we weren't able to find information on registered nurse or physical therapy staffing for this nursing home. Finally, we assessed the number of residents that ultimately were able to return home from this nursing home. We found that 4.8 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.
Long-term Care Quality
The last area we graded is long-term care, which proved to be this nursing home's weakest area. We awarded this facility a grade of D in that area. Unfortunately, this category hurt the nursing home's overall grade to some degree. If you are seeking anything other than rehabilitation, you should take a close look at each facility's long-term care ratings. After considering the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination data. This facility vaccinated 100 percent of its residents for pneumonia, which is more than the vast majority of nursing homes. Surprisingly, this nursing home was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had just 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. Unfortunately, some of its other scores in the category weren't as favorable as these.
