Facility Inspections
Although this nursing home's overall grade was terrible, it fared well in the area of inspections. In fact, we awarded it a B+ for that category, which is one of our better scores. Inspection ratings are based on several items found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Deficiencies are a key item to look for on these reports. Most importantly, you should avoid nursing homes that have severe deficiencies linked to endangerment of patients. This particular nursing home received 7 deficiencies on its inspection report. Overall, this is still a solid inspection report, but we'd always recommend looking into any deficiencies you find troubling.
Nurse Quality
We gave this facility a grade of just D for our nursing rating and that actually turned out to be its second highest score. Our nursing rating is mostly tied to a facility's nurse staffing. This facility provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low total compared to most nursing homes. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in calculating our nursing scores. This place fared well in terms of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these metrics to be measures of the quality of nursing care.

Long-term Care Quality
The third category we graded was long-term care, where this facility received an F. When nursing homes receive a score in this range in long-term care it generally means the facility didn't perform well in our measures relating to resident care. After considering the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we next considered the facility's vaccination data. This nursing home vaccinated 92.73608 percent of its residents against pneumonia, which happens to be a few points below what we anticipated but still a reasonably acceptable figure. Surprisingly, this nursing home actually fared well at keeping its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. This was its best score in this category.
Short-term Care Quality
The final category we rated is short-term care, where this facility received a bottom of the barrel score in this area as well. Unfortunately, we gave it an abysmal F in this category, which is obviously somewhat alarming. Our short-term care grade is commonly employed to measure a nursing home's performance with rehabilitation. In order to have highly rated rehabilitation services, nursing homes generally need to offer better levels of skilled nursing. These types of services include registered nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists and other highly trained professionals. With a grade this poor for this area, we weren't shocked to find this nursing home was well below average in two of the key staffing areas we focus on. It offered far fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most other facilities. Finally, we assessed the number of patients who returned home from this facility. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 4.1 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home. This figure was quite a bit off the national average.
