Facility Inspections
To go along with its relatively modest overall grade, we gave this nursing home an A for our inspections rating. This score is far better than its overall grade. Inspection ratings weigh several factors, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can find more information about each of these factors by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. While this nursing home had some deficiencies on its inspection report, none of them were serious based on CMS' deficiency scale. A couple of minor deficiencies should not stop you from considering a nursing home.
Nurse Quality
This nursing home's nursing grade appears to be one of its better features. The facility received a grade of C in this category. Nursing grades are mostly based on the nursing home's level of nurse staffing. This place provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident each day. This is a much lower figure than we were hoping for. Finally, despite not having the most impressive total nursing hours per resident, this nursing home actually performed admirably in the area of preventing major falls. This is usually a good indicator that a nursing home has quality controls in place.

Long-term Care Quality
The next category we looked at is long-term care, where this facility was given a C in this category. In a long-term care environment, the primary goal is to keep patients as healthy and safe as possible. This is different than skilled nursing or short-term care where the goal is to rehabilitate residents. On top of considering the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we analyzed the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This facility gave the vaccine to 84.61538 percent of its residents. This is multiple points lower than the national average. Fortunately, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
Short-term Care Quality
The final category we looked at was short-term care, which is a low point for this nursing home. We gave this facility a grade of just D in the area of short-term care. Our short-term care scores are thought to be more critical for people in need of rehabilitation from their nursing home. Rehabilitation usually utilizes higher levels of highly-skilled nursing. Skilled nursing means not only nursing services, but also physical and speech therapy, as well as other types of therapy. Based on its score in this area, we weren't stunned to find that this place is well below average in terms of its number of registered nurse and physical therapy hours offered to its patients based on the measures we looked at. Lastly, we assessed the percentage of patients that eventually returned home from this nursing home. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 0 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home. This figure was quite a bit off the national average.
