Facility Inspections
We also wanted to emphasize that this nursing home has received nearly flawless inspections in recent years. We awarded them an A- in this category. Inspection scores take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and federal fines. You can learn more about each of these items by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. While this place had a few minor dings on its government inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are found in categories G through L. This means CMS didn't deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. We should note that deficiency-free inspections are rare in this industry.
Nurse Quality
We also wanted to emphasize the fact that this facility received an impressive grade of A- in our nursing category. Nursing ratings are primarily tied to the facility's level of nurse staffing. This particular nursing home provided 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well in terms of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality
The next category we analyzed was short-term care. Contributing to its dominant resume, this facility also excelled in that category. In fact, it received a grade of of A- for the category. Short-term care ratings are based in part on the facility's quantity of highly-skilled nursing services. This includes a vast scope of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, as well as other variations of therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not all nursing homes employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, according to the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The last measure we looked at in this area is the percentage of residents who were able to leave the nursing home and return to the community. We found that 6 percent of this nursing home's residents were able to return home.
Long-term Care Quality
The final area we graded was long-term care. This nursing home was awarded an above average nursing rating in our assessment, with a grade of B. Even though this is not as strong as many of its other scores, this remains one of the better grades in that area. For prospective patients looking for a permanent place to live rather than skilled nursing, long-term care grades are an important measure. In addition to assessing the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we analyzed the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This facility vaccinated 89.02439 percent of its patients. This is a bit less than we were hoping for. Clearly, this facility is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.
