Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

In addition to earning a great overall score, this facility performed even better in the area of inspections which is associated with the facility's recent inspection reports. We awarded it an A+ for this category, which is one of our highest scores. Our inspection scores weigh a host of factors found on a nursing home's inspection report. One of the most important criteria we consider is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. Facilities with better grades in this area usually have few of these severe deficiencies. While this nursing home had some minor dings on its government inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those labeled as categories G through L. This tells you that CMS did not consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. Remember that deficiency-free inspection reports are rare in the industry.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B

This facility was awarded an impressive long-term care grade as well. We gave it one of our higher scores in that area with a grade of B. Long-term care scores in this range generally require both around the clock care from nurses and aids, as well as quality routine healthcare services. In addition to assessing the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home provided the vaccine to 100 percent of its patients, which is significantly higher than the majority of nursing homes. Lastly, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. It had only 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-minus

This facility's next best category grade came in the area of nursing. In that category, we gave this nursing home a grade of B-. This wasn't quite on par with some of its other category grades mentioned above. Our nursing grade analyzes several factors, many of which are associated with quantities of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides only 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident daily. This is a somewhat uninspiring figure as it is well below average. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this facility surprisingly excelled in some of the quality-based metrics we assessed. In fact, it performed well in the area of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. Many consider these areas to be reliable indicators of the quality of nursing care. In many cases, the quality of nursing care is as important as the number of hours of care offered.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: C

Turning to our fourth category, this nursing home received a grade of C in short-term care, which we consider to be an acceptable score. Short-term care grades are based in part on a nursing home's quantity of highly-skilled highly skilled professionals. This includes a vast scope of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, in addition to other types of therapy. Unfortunately, we were not able to locate information about this nursing home's registered nurse or physical therapy staffing. The last statistic we assessed in this area is the percentage of residents that ultimately were able to return home from the nursing home. We found that just 0 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home. Unfortunately, this was below the national average.

This statistic measures the percentage of long-term care residents taking antipsychotic medications.
