Short-term Care Quality
To go along with its strong overall grade, we gave this facility an A for our short-term care grade. Our short-term care scores are thought to be more critical for people requiring rehabilitation services. Rehabilitation typically mandates higher levels of skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes not just nursing, but also physical and occupational therapy, as well as other forms of therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this facility employs registered nurses. Not all nursing homes employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, based on the information this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The final datapoint we assessed in this area is the percentage of residents that eventually returned home from the facility. We found that 6.5 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home as opposed to remaining at the facility on a permanent basis.
Facility Inspections
Adding to its impressive category grades, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A for our inspections rating. Perhaps the most important factor we look at in computing our inspection grades is deficiencies. Deficiencies can be found on a facility's recent inspection reports. Places with better scores in this area typically dodged the most severe deficiencies involving health risks or even death. While this nursing home had some deficiencies on its report, none of them were severe based on CMS' scale. The fact that none of the deficiencies were severe made us feel better about this inspection report.

Nurse Quality
The next highest grade we gave this nursing home came in the category of nursing, where we gave it a grade of B-. This wasn't quite as good as some of its other scores, but a grade in this range is not the end of the world. Nursing grades are based in large part on quantity of nursing care available. This particular facility provided just 0.4 hours of nursing care per patient per day. This figure is far below the national average. Finally, despite not having the most impressive total nursing hours per resident, this facility actually performed admirably in the metric of preventing major falls. This is often a reliable indicator that a place has sufficient quality controls in place.
Long-term Care Quality
This facility's least impressive area is long-term care, which is the last area we looked at. It received an F in this area. Despite several excellent grades in other areas, this score is still somewhat of a concern so we wanted to point it out. If you are seeking anything other than short-term rehabilitation, you should take a close look at each nursing home's long-term care ratings. Once we concluded our assessment of the quantity of care provided by nurses, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination data. We were pleased to learn that this nursing home vaccinates 98.36066 percent of its patients for pneumonia. To our surprise, this nursing home also keeps its residents out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. Sadly, some of its other scores in the category weren't as favorable as these.
