On top of being a great facility overall, it also received A+ health inspections recently. Its inspections were virtually flawless. Arguably the most significant factor we look at in computing our inspection scores is deficiencies. Deficiencies are found on a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Facilities with better scores in this category most likely dodged the more severe deficiencies involving health risks or even death. This place was hit with 4 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none were considered severe. This indicates that the government inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies an immediate risk to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

We also wanted to emphasize the fact that this facility received an impressive grade of A in our nursing category. Our nursing grade assesses the nursing home's level of nurse staffing. We weigh both the levels of training of the nurses and the quantity of hours spent with patients. This particular nursing home provided 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at several nursing quality-based metrics and this facility excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any nursing home the state in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can frequently be prevented by offering better nursing care, such as by having a policy of turning residents at least once a day.

Moving on our next category, we gave this facility a grade of A for our long-term care rating. This is a first-rate score. If you are seeking services other than rehabilitation, you should take a close look at long-term care grades. After looking at the quantity of care provided by aids and other staff, we next considered the facility's vaccination record. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that this nursing home submitted vaccination data. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

In the final area, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A+ for our short-term care rating. This topped off a very impressive profile. Our short-term care grades are based on the facility's quantity of skilled highly skilled professionals. This means a wide spectrum of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, not to mention other forms of therapy. This nursing home employs both physical therapists and registered nurses. Not all facilities employ these skilled professionals. Lastly, we looked at the number of residents that who were able to eventually return home from this facility. We found that 5.1 percent of this facility's residents returned home.
