Does this page answer your questions about Willow Haven Nursing Home?
The next highest grade we gave this nursing home in any area came in the category of nursing, where we gave it a grade of B-. Our nursing score focuses on the nursing home's level of nurse staffing. We consider both the levels of training of the nurses as well as the quantity of hours spent with residents. This nursing home averages just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low figure. Finally, despite not having the highest total nursing hours, this nursing home actually performed admirably in the metric of preventing major falls. This is typically a good indicator that a place has sufficient quality controls in place.
Short-term Care Quality
The last category we rated is short-term care. Unfortunately, we gave it a lowly F for this category, which is a very poor grade. This is certainly a major disappointment. In calculating these short-term care ratings, we assess the facility's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses, respiratory therapists, physical therapists and other types of skilled professionals. Our goal is to devise a scale for comparing the rehabilitation services of different nursing homes. Unfortunately, we found that this nursing home provided fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most other facilities. The final measure we assessed in this category is the number of residents that returned home from the nursing home. This facility struggled quite a bit in this metric as well, with just 3.9 percent of its residents returning home.
