Facility Inspections
A+
Historical
The primary reason this nursing home received a decent overall grade is its excellent inspections in recent years. We gave it one of our better grades in that area, with an A+. This is a notably better score than the place's overall grade, which was decent but certainly not elite. Our inspection ratings account for a host of factors included in a nursing home's inspection reports. One of the most important criteria we weigh heavily is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. Nursing homes with higher grades in this area tend to have few severe deficiencies. While this facility had a few minor dings on its government inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those labeled as categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This means that the inspectors didn't consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Long-term Care Quality
B+
Historical
This nursing home also was given a positive long-term care grade. In fact, we awarded them a grade of B+ in this area, which is one of our better. In a long-term care environment, the facility's primary goal is to keep patients healthy and safe. This is different than skilled nursing or short-term care where the goal is to rehabilitate patients. On top of looking at the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home administered the vaccine to 15.625 percent of its residents. This is somewhat less than we anticipated but still a reasonably acceptable percentage. Finally, we looked at the nursing home's number of hospitalizations. While it had 2.24 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, its risk adjusted statistic was middle of the road due to it having more complex patients.

Nurse Quality
C
Historical
We also gave this nursing home a decent score in the category of nursing care, with a grade of C. The nursing grade is based on a handful of factors, however, the primary consideration is the number of nurse hours spent with patients. This particular nursing home provided 3.6 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based measures, such as preventing major falls. This facility performed admirably in this area.
Short-term Care Quality
F
Historical
The next category we analyzed was short-term care. It received an F for this category, which is an abysmal score. This is clearly a significant concern. In crafting these short-term care ratings, we analyze the facility's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses, respiratory therapists, physical therapists and other types of therapists. The objective is to devise a barometer for sizing up the rehabilitation services of various nursing homes. In this place's case, we found that it provides less physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than the average facility. Finally, we considered the number of patients that eventually returned home from this facility. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 30.4 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.
