In addition to receiving a great overall score, this facility also received an A+ in short-term care. Short-term care scores are based on a nursing home's quantity of highly-skilled skilled healthcare professionals. This means a vast spectrum of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, not to mention other forms of therapy. It doesn't appear that this facility provided information about its staffing of registered nurses or physical therapists. Finally, we assessed the number of patients that ultimately were able to return home from this facility. This facility performed better in this area than in its staffing levels. We found that it performed as well as just about any nursing home in the country with 78.4 percent of its patients returning home.
The next category we looked at was inspections, where this facility also received an A+ grade. This is simply as good as it gets in this critical category. Our inspection grades are tied to many datapoints found on the a nursing home's inspections. Places that excel in this category typically have very few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these facilities generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

The next area we looked at was long-term care. Adding to its impressive profile, this facility also excelled in this area. In fact, we awarded it a of A- for that category. Facilities that receive this type of score in this category typically provide consistent 24/7 care to ensure residents are kept in good health. One of the criteria we considered after nursing hours is vaccines. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that this nursing home submitted vaccination data. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its residents out of the hospital. It had only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
Turning to the final area, this nursing home also performed admirably in our nursing category. We awarded it a B+ in that category. This wrapped up a first-rate report card. The nursing rating consists of several data points, most of which are tied to nursing hours. This facility provided 0 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This place performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a nursing home has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can frequently be avoided if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.
