Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

On top of being a great facility overall, it also earned A+ government inspections recently. Its inspections are virtually perfect. Inspection grades take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies, substantiated complaints and federal fines. You can find more information about each of these factors by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. While this nursing home had some minor dings on its government inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones found in categories G through L. This tells you that CMS didn't deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

Contributing to its high-end profile, this nursing home also received a superb long-term care grade, with a grade of A-. Facilities that do well in long-term care tend to provide residents with more supervision and stay on top of routine medical care. On top of assessing the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home vaccinated 99.492386 percent of its residents, which is very impressive. Pneumonia sadly can be a life threatening illness for nursing home patients so we strongly prefer when a nursing home doesn't leave this to chance. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. It had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

Adding to its first-rate assessment, this facility also was awarded a dominant short-term care grade, with a score of A-. Our short-term care ratings are crucial for patients in need of rehabilitation. Rehabilitation usually utilizes more skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes a vast spectrum of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, as well as other forms of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not all facilities employs these types of nurses. However, according to the information this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The last statistic we looked at in this category is the percentage of patients who were able to leave the facility and return to the community. We found that 5.9 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A-minus

Moving on to our final area, this facility was awarded a strong nursing score. We awarded it a grade of A- in this area, resulting in this facility receiving straight A's. Our nursing rating analyzes the facility's level of nurse staffing. We factor in both the levels of licensure of the nurses and the number of hours spent with patients. This facility provided 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This nursing home performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a facility has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can frequently be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.
