Facility Inspections
This nursing home received a quality overall grade as described above, but we especially want to emphasize its excellent health inspections in recent years. We gave it an A+ in this area. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in determining these inspection ratings. One of those factors is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of the deficiencies is arguably more meaningful than the number of deficiencies, as some deficiencies end up being quite minor. Unfortunately, it does not appear that we were able to find deficiency counts for this nursing home. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Long-term Care Quality
Among the reasons we graded this facility so well is that it received a favorable long-term care score. In fact, long-term care is its second most favorable category grade. In that category, we gave this facility a grade of A-. Nursing homes that receive this type of score in long-term care typically provide consistent around the clock care to ensure patients are kept in good health. Once we assessed the amount of care provided by nurses, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination data. This nursing home vaccinated 97.32938 percent of its patients against pneumonia, which is very impressive. Pneumonia sadly is often a deadly condition for nursing home residents so we strongly prefer when a nursing home does not leave its residents vulnerable. This nursing home was also able to keep its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had just 1.45 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days.

Nurse Quality
This facility is also strong in the area of nursing, where it received a grade of B. It outperformed most nursing homes in this category. There are a variety of datapoints within this grade. Many of these datapoints relate to staffing levels. This facility provided 3.6 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed certain nursing quality-based metrics in computing our nursing grades. These include minimizing residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We view these datapoints as good measures of the quality of nursing care offered, since better care tends to reduce these problems.
Short-term Care Quality
Moving on to our next category, this facility really didn't perform well. Due to a very poor grade of F in that area, this was obviously this facility's worst area. Our short-term care grades are arguably more critical for individuals needing rehabilitation from their nursing home. Rehabilitation usually requires higher levels of skilled nursing services. This means not merely nursing, but also physical and respiratory therapy, as well as other types of therapy. Unfortunately, we found that this nursing home provides fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per patient than most other facilities. Lastly, we considered the number of residents who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that just 34.2 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.
