Facility Inspections
Although we gave this facility a bad overall rating, we actually gave it a somewhat respectable grade in the area of inspections, where we gave it a grade of B-. This was quite a bit better than its other categories. Inspection grades weigh several factors, including deficiencies and federal fines. You can learn more about each of these factors by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Fortunately, although this place had some minor dings on its government inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are labeled as categories G through L. This tells you that the inspectors didn't consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. Lastly, this nursing home was cited by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. This is generally a really bad sign. We would never recommend this facility.
Nurse Quality
We also ended up giving this facility a fairly respectable grade in the area of nursing, where it received a grade of B-. Our nursing grade is mostly associated with a nursing home's nurse staffing. This particular nursing home provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident daily. This figure is far below average. Lastly, while this facility got dinged a bit for nursing hours per resident, it actually excelled in a few of our quality measures. With fewer than five percent of its patients sustaining pressure ulcers, it did very well in this statistic.

Short-term Care Quality
This nursing home's third most favorable area is short-term care. We awarded it a B- in this area. This is essentially a middle of the pack score in this area. Our short-term care grades are crucial for patients in need of rehabilitation. Rehabilitation generally mandates more highly-skilled nursing. Skilled nursing includes a vast scope of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, as well as other forms of therapy. Unfortunately, we found that this nursing home provided fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most other nursing homes. The last metric we looked at in this category is the percentage of residents that were able to return home from the facility. We found that just 3.4 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.
Long-term Care Quality
The next category we analyzed was long-term care. For that category, we awarded this nursing home a B-. For residents seeking a permanent place to live as opposed to skilled nursing, long-term care is an important category. On top of looking at the amount of care provided by aids and other staff, we analyzed the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. Thankfully, this nursing home provided the vaccine to 99.39976 percent of its patients, which is an above average percentage. Finally, this nursing home was also able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had only 0.02 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
