Facility Inspections
We also wanted to point out that this nursing home earned near flawless health inspections recently. We gave them an A+ in this category. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in computing our inspection grades. One key factor is health deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of the deficiencies is usually more meaningful than the quantity of deficiencies, as some of these can be quite insignificant. Although this facility had some deficiencies on its report, none were severe based on CMS' scale. Keep in mind that deficiency-free inspection reports are uncommon in the industry.
Nurse Quality
Adding to this nursing home's list of strengths, it also received an excellent nursing grade. We awarded them an impressive grade of A- in this category. Our nursing rating includes quite a few datapoints, however, the main consideration is the level of nurse hours per patient per week. This facility provided 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This facility performed very well when it comes to avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality
We also awarded this facility a grade of A- for our short-term care score. In the category of short-term care, we endeavor to qualify measures of a facility's rehabilitation services. We assess a nursing home's skilled nursing services, such as the ones performed by registered nurses and various therapists. Fortunately, it looks like this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not every facility employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, according to the information they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Lastly, we assessed the percentage of patients that were able to return home from this nursing home. We found that 0 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.
Long-term Care Quality
Moving on to our final area, we gave this facility a grade of D for the area of long-term care. This was the facility's least impressive category rating. Nevertheless, we wouldn't dwell on one bad area. In a long-term care environment, the primary objective is to keep patients as healthy and safe as possible. This is different than skilled nursing or short-term care where the goal is to rehabilitate patients. After considering the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination record. This facility vaccinated 100 percent of its patients for pneumonia, which is more than the majority of nursing homes. Surprisingly, this facility also keeps its patients out of the hospital. It had only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. Sadly, some of its other scores in this category were not as favorable as these.
