Facility Inspections
In addition to being a quality facility overall, this nursing home also excelled in the area of inspections, where it received an A. Not many nursing homes performed better in this area. Inspection grades take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and federal fines. You can learn more about each of these issues by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Fortunately, although this facility had a few minor dings on its government inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those found in categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This means the government inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. We should note that deficiency-free inspection reports are uncommon in the industry.
Short-term Care Quality
This facility fared well in the category of short-term care. Indeed, we gave it a score of A for that area, which is one of our best scores. With our short-term care score, we try to create a meaningful measure for rehabilitation services. In this process, we assess the facility's offerings of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not every facility employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, based on the information this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Lastly, we looked at the number of residents who ultimately were able to return home from this nursing home. We found that 6.1 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.

Nurse Quality
This facility's next best category was its nursing grade, where it received a grade of B-. While this didn't quite match its scores in some of the categories discussed above, this is still a decent score. The nursing rating considers many factors. The most important factor is the number of hours nurses spend with patients. This nursing home averages just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low figure. Finally, despite not having the most impressive total nursing hours per resident, this facility performed admirably in the metric of preventing major falls. This is often an indicator that a facility has quality controls in place.
Long-term Care Quality
The final category we rated was long-term care, in which this facility was awarded a C. Although this wound up being its least impressive category score, this is still not a bad grade. In computing our long-term care ratings, we analyze the nursing home's ability to maintain its permanent residents' health and quality of life. After considering the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we then looked at the facility's vaccination data. This facility vaccinated 93.25843 percent of its patients for pneumonia, which is a bit less than we were hoping for but still a reasonably acceptable percentage. Nevertheless, this place keeps its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
