Long-term Care Quality
We also wanted to emphasize the fact that this nursing home earned an A in our long-term care category. For patients in need of a permanent residence as opposed to rehabilitation, long-term care grades are a key measure. After considering the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we then looked at the facility's vaccination data. This facility vaccinated 90.71429 percent of its residents against pneumonia, which is somewhat below what we anticipated but still a respectable figure. While its vaccination rate was a bit lower than we like to see, we were pleased to find place was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
Facility Inspections
Adding to this nursing home's impressive resume, we awarded this facility a grade of A for inspections. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in determining these inspection grades. One critical factor is deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of deficiencies is arguably more important than the quantity of deficiencies, as some deficiencies can be relatively minor. Although this place had some deficiencies on its report, none were major deficiencies based on CMS' deficiency scale. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Nurse Quality
This nursing home also received a very impressive nursing grade. In that area, we awarded this facility a grade of A-. In computing a nursing home's nursing score, we consider the amount of time nurses commit to residents and the level of licensure of those nurses. This particular nursing home provided 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed several nursing quality measures and this place excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any nursing home the nation in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can frequently be prevented by providing better nursing care, such as by employing a protocol of moving patients even once per day.
Short-term Care Quality
The next category we scored was short-term care. We gave this facility one of our higher scores in this area, with a grade of B. Although this was not as dominant as many of this nursing home's other scores, it is still a fine score. Short-term care scores are vital for residents seeking rehabilitation. Rehabilitation generally mandates additional highly-skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes a broad spectrum of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, as well as other types of therapy. We weren't able to find registered nurse or physical therapy staffing data for this facility. Finally, we considered the number of patients who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 0 percent of this facility's patients returned home.
