Facility Inspections
While we graded this facility incredibly poorly overall, it received a fairly respectable inspection report this year. As a result, it received a decent grade in that category with a score of B-. These inspection grades take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and federal fines. You can find more information about each of these factors by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Amazingly, this was one of the few nursing homes in the country that had no deficiencies whatsoever on its inspection report. This is very impressive. Lastly, this facility was flagged by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. We prefer to avoid facilities with this designation. Please do your best to find an alternative nursing home.
Nurse Quality
This facility really excelled in the area of nursing, where it earned an B-. Few facilities performed better in this area. Our nursing score is mostly tied to a facility's nurse staffing. This place provided just 0 hours of nursing care per patient on a daily basis. This is a relatively low total compared to most facilities. Finally, our nursing grades also consider quality-based metrics, such as avoiding major falls. Despite not having the most impressive total nursing hours per resident, this nursing home performed admirably in the metric of preventing major falls. This is often a good indicator that a facility has sufficient quality controls in place. Many falls could be avoided if a nursing home supplies enough nurses to assist its patients.

Short-term Care Quality
This nursing home also didn't fare poorly in the area of short-term care. Indeed, we awarded it a grade of B- for that category, which happens to be among its better scores. Our short-term care scores are vital for individuals requiring rehabilitation. Rehabilitation typically requires more highly-skilled nursing. Skilled nursing means a wide range of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, as well as other forms of therapy. In this facility's case, we were surprised to learn that it actually provides less physical therapist and registered nurse hours per patient than the typical facility. The hope is always that this does not adversely affect the quality of care. The last measure we considered in this area is the number of residents that ultimately were able to return home from the facility. We found that just 5.9 percent of this facility's patients returned home.
Long-term Care Quality
The final category we scored was long-term care. This facility was given a rock bottom grade of F in that category. Nursing homes that do not fare well in this category typically are not as well-staffed and are lagging in a few of the areas of routine personal care we looked at. After looking at the quantity of care provided by aids and other staff, we turned to the nursing home's vaccination data. We were disappointed to learn that this facility vaccinated only 90.600525 percent of its patients against pneumonia. Surprisingly, this nursing home was actually decent at keeping its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had just 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. This is its best score in this category.
