Facility Inspections
In addition to being a strong facility overall, it also received A+ inspections in recent years. Its inspections are nearly perfect. Perhaps the most important factor we consider in calculating our inspection grades is deficiencies. These deficiencies can be found on a nursing home's inspection reports. Facilities with higher grades in this area typically avoided the more severe deficiencies involving things like patient abuse. Although this nursing home had some deficiencies on its inspection report, none were major deficiencies based on CMS' deficiency scale. A couple minor deficiencies are not necessarily the end of the world.
Short-term Care Quality
We also wanted to point out the fact that this nursing home was awarded a dominant grade of A in our short-term care area. In the category of short-term care, we strive to qualify measures of a facility's rehabilitation services. We look at the facility's skilled nursing services, including the ones performed by registered nurses and various therapists. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not all nursing homes employs these types of nurses. However, based on the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The last datapoint we assessed in this area is the percentage of residents who ultimately were able to return home from the nursing home. We found that 5.7 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home as opposed to remaining at the nursing home on a permanent basis.

Nurse Quality
To complement its strong performance in other areas, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A+ for our inspections rating. The nursing rating is based on quite a few datapoints, but the paramount one is the quantity of nurse hours spent with patients. This nursing home averages 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well in terms of avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.
Long-term Care Quality
The next area we scored is long-term care, which was a weak link for this facility. We awarded this nursing home a D for long-term care, leaving this as the nursing home's least impressive grade. We would still recommend that you consider all of a nursing home's grades. If you are seeking anything other than short-term rehabilitation, you should take a close look at each nursing home's long-term care grades. One of the statistics we considered on top of nursing hours is vaccines. Frankly, we were a bit bothered by the fact that this facility administered the pneumonia vaccination to just 83.49515 percent of its residents. Surprisingly, this place actually fared well at keeping its residents out of the hospital. It had only 0.02 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. This was its best feature in this category.
