Facility Inspections
To pair with its decent overall grade, we gave this facility an A for our inspections rating. This grade is far more impressive than the facility's overall score. Inspection grades take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies, substantiated complaints and federal fines. You can find more information about each of these factors by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Amazingly, this was one of the few nursing homes in the country that had no deficiencies whatsoever on its inspection report. This is very impressive. This is a good sign for this nursing home.
Nurse Quality
The second highest grade we gave this nursing home in any area came in the category of nursing, where we gave it a grade of B-. In determining a facility's nursing grade, we weigh the quantity of hours nurses commit to residents as well as the level of licensure of those nurses. This particular nursing home provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident each day. This figure is significantly below average. Finally, despite not having the highest total nursing hours, this nursing home performed admirably in the metric of preventing major falls. This is typically a reliable indicator that a facility has sufficient quality controls in place.

Long-term Care Quality
This facility received its next best category score in the area of long-term care. We awarded this facility a C in this category, which is a respectable score. For patients seeking a permanent residence as opposed to skilled nursing, long-term care is an important category. After looking at the amount of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination statistics. This facility vaccinated 92.0354 percent of its residents for pneumonia, which happens to be a few points lower than we expected but still a reasonably acceptable figure. On a more positive note, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
Short-term Care Quality
Moving on to the fourth area, this facility didn't fare very well. With an abysmal grade of F in short-term care, this was this nursing home's weakest area. In our short-term care rating, we strive to craft a meaningful measure for rehabilitation. In this process, we analyze a nursing home's level of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as occupational therapy. Considering its score in this area, we were not stunned to find that this nursing home was well below average in terms of its number of physical therapy and registered nurse hours provided to its patients based on the metrics we looked at. The final item we assessed in this area is the number of patients who eventually returned home from the facility. This nursing home struggled quite a bit in this area as well, with just 4.2 percent of its residents returning home.
