Facility Inspections
The main reason this facility received a decent overall score is its impeccable government inspections in recent years. We gave them one of our better scores in that area, with an A+. This is a much better score than the place's overall score, which was decent but certainly not elite. Our inspection ratings are based on datapoints found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes that receive favorable grades in this area have very few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these nursing homes should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. This particular nursing home received 5 deficiencies on its inspection report. Overall, this is still a good inspection report, but we'd always recommend looking into any deficiencies you find troubling.
Long-term Care Quality
In addition, we also would like to draw your attention to the fact that this nursing home received impressive long-term care marks in this assessment. We awarded them one of our better scores in that category, with a grade of B+. This turned out to be the facility's second highest score. Nursing homes that receive this type of grade in this category tend to provide consistent around the clock care to ensure residents are kept in good health. After looking at the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we then analyzed the facility's vaccination record. This nursing home vaccinated 97.15447 percent of its patients for pneumonia, which is significantly higher than most nursing homes. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

Short-term Care Quality
The next category we looked at is short-term care, where this facility was awarded a grade of B- in this category. Short-term care grades are typically used to score a facility's rehabilitation services To provide good rehabilitation services, facilities generally must feature better levels of highly skilled nursing. Skilled nursing includes registered nurses, physical therapists, respiratory therapists and other licensed professionals. Unfortunately, we were not able to track down information on registered nurse or physical therapy staffing for this nursing home. The final measure we assessed in this category is the percentage of patients that ultimately were able to return home from the nursing home. We found that just 5.6 percent of this facility's residents returned home.
Nurse Quality
The next area we looked at is nursing, which proved to be this facility's least impressive category. We gave it a lowly F for this area, which is clearly a major disappointment. The nursing rating includes quite a few subcategories, many of which are tied to levels of nurse staffing. This nursing home offered a meager 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident on a daily basis. This is an alarmingly low total. To pair with its low totals in the area of nursing hours per resident, this place also didn't fare as well in the quality-based measures we looked at in determining our nursing grades. We looked at the percentage of residents sustaining major falls and pressure ulcers. This nursing home had more pressure ulcers and falls than the average nursing home. This may be a bad sign when you consider that many bed sores and falls are believed to be preventable with better nursing care. These statistics pulled down this nursing home's nursing rating quite a bit.
