One of the many reasons this turned out to be a quality nursing home is that it received an A+ inspection grade. This is simply as good as it gets in this critical category. This facility provided the vaccine to 98.96104 percent of its patients. Vaccines are critical to keeping residents healthy. Clearly, this facility is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. Adding to its strong resume, this facility also received an excellent nursing score, with a grade of A. The nursing score includes several factors. The most heavily weighted one is the number of hours nurses spent with residents. This nursing home provides 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at several nursing quality measures and this nursing home excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any facility the nation in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can typically be avoided by offering better nursing care, such as by employing a system of turning a resident more often.

The final category we scored is short-term care, in which this nursing home received a B-. This is this facility's least impressive area. This is nevertheless a middle of the pack score. Our short-term care grades are based in part on a nursing home's quantity of skilled nursing services. This includes a broad scope of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, in addition to other forms of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this facility employs registered nurses. Not every facility employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, according to the information they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The final metric we looked at in this area is the number of patients who ultimately returned home from the facility. We found that just 4.2 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.
