Facility Inspections
On top of faring well overall, this facility also received a nearly flawless inspection report. As a result, it received one of our highest scores in that category with an A+. Perhaps the most significant factor we look at in computing our inspection grades is deficiencies. These deficiencies can be found on a facility's inspection reports. Facilities with better scores in this area typically avoided the most severe deficiencies involving things like patient abuse. This nursing home was hit with 3 deficiencies on its inspection report, but fortunately none of the deficiencies were considered severe. This means that CMS didn't consider any of these deficiencies to cause an imminent threat to patient safety or health. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Nurse Quality
We also wanted to emphasize the fact that this facility received an impressive grade of A in our nursing category. Our nursing grade is primarily associated with a facility's nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at several nursing quality measures and this nursing home excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any facility Ohio in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can frequently be prevented by offering better nursing care, such as having a protocol of moving a patient more often.

Long-term Care Quality
This facility is also strong in the area of long-term care, where it was awarded a score of B+. It outperformed most nursing homes in this area. For patients seeking a permanent place to live as opposed to skilled nursing, long-term care grades are an important measure. On top of considering the amount of care provided by aids and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This facility gave the vaccine to 67.33871 percent of its residents. This is somewhat lower than we expected. Although its vaccination rate was a bit lower than we hoped for, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. It had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.
Short-term Care Quality
Moving on to our last category, this facility received a respectable short-term care grade. Even though this isn't nearly as good as a few of its other category grades, this is still not a terrible score. Our short-term care grade is typically used to gauge a facility's performance with rehabilitation. In order to have highly graded rehabilitation services, facilities generally must provide higher levels of skilled nursing. These types of services include registered nurses, physical therapists, respiratory therapists and other highly skilled individuals. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not all facilities employs these skilled professionals. However, according to the data this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The last metric we looked at in this category is the percentage of patients that were able to return home from the nursing home. We found that just 4.6 percent of this facility's patients returned home. This figure was below the national average.
